ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MORAVIA GSA TRADING COMPANY
Press release
Brno, April 26, 2018
Today, the South Moravia Region Council decided to establish the Moravia GSA trading company, as a subsidiary of the Jihomoravská rozvojová společnost, in which Brno Airport will have a 55% share and Jihomoravská rozvojová company a 45% share.
"The reason for establishing this company is the planned future expansion of the air connection between the city and the region within Europe. We will be ready to respond quickly and flexibly when finding a partner airline for the implementation of new scheduled flights from Brno. Due to the current good relations, we have agreed that a new operator of Brno Airport would be a part of the newly established business company," said the Governor of the South Moravian Region Bohumil Šimek.
"The joint team of Brno Airport and the South Moravian Region has been operating for several weeks. It is good that this, so far, unofficial cooperation is receiving an official framework," said Milan Kratina, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brno Airport.
"At the moment, the establishment of the joint venture is an important, but mainly technical step, on the way to help us bring new airlines to the South Moravian Region," added Bohumil Šimek.
In the future, the South Moravian Region assumes a common interest with the city of Brno, which is why Brno city has become a shareholder in the Jihomoravská rozvojová company. The new company will be established precisely to simplify and speed up the whole process so that the partners from the public sector would gain a platform and background for joint action and cooperation.
