CANCELLATION OF THE BRNO-BERLIN LINE
Press release
Brno, November 29, 2019
After yesterday's unofficial news, we received official confirmation today that Ryanair has decided to cancel the Brno-Berlin route from the summer flight schedule, i.e. from 29th March 2020. The last flight will take place on Saturday 28th March 2020. Although in April this year we tried to expand the offer of scheduled flights in cooperation with Ryanair, unfortunately, this route did not fully meet expectations on both sides and would probably not lead to significant improvement in the future.
"Of course, we are sorry for the loss of the line, but it clearly shows us and our partners, especially regional institutions, that we need to work much more together on the image of our beautiful city and region. For us, as the airport operator, we firmly believe that we will be able, as we did this year with Berlin, to acquire new routes in the years to come. We would like to assure everyone that nothing changes for the other scheduled routes and that the flight schedule (from 29th March 2020) will continue with the daily connection to London Stansted and the route to Milan Bergamo will return twice a week on Monday and Friday," said Jakub Splavec, spokesperson of BRNO AIRPORT a.s.
