22.10.2024 - Brno Airport closes a successful season with a record number of destinations, plus exotic winter destinations on the horizon
BRNO AIRPORT’s summer is slowly drawing to a close and may already be considered one of its most successful. Passengers were able to choose from 33 destinations, the most in the airport’s history. Activity will continue into the winter months, which are set to be unusually busy. The regular year-round route to London will be supplemented by two exotic destinations – Phuket in Thailand and Mauritius, a new addition. This broad range of flights is also reflected in the number of passengers processed. 6.2.2024 - BRNO AIRPORT celebrates a new milestone: It handled more than 600,000 passengers for the first time last year, a 46% increase on the previous year
BRNO AIRPORT enjoyed a successful 2023, handling a total of 686,867 passengers. In doing so, it surpassed its previous record of 558,000 passengers in 2011. The summer season proved particularly popular, with nearly 550,000 travellers passing through the airport between June and September, close to a 50% increase on the same period in 2022. 13.11.2023 - BRNO AIRPORT hits passenger milestone and prepares for its first long-haul passenger flights
BRNO AIRPORT a.s. has hit a historic milestone, handling over 664,000 passengers during the first 10 months of this year. This exceeds the previous record of 2011, with 558,000 passengers flying over the course of that year. The busiest months were during the summer holidays, which saw over half a million passengers travelling between the start of June and the end of September, a 47% increase compared to last year and up 34% on the pre-Covid year of 2019. 13.2.2023 - BRNO AIRPORT announces 472,000 passengers for last year. This year it expects another strong season due to its expanded offering of seasonal destinations and extra regular routes.
After two pandemic-affected years, passenger numbers are growing again at BRNO AIRPORT. In 2022, the airport handled exactly 471,811 passengers, which represents 153% growth when compared to the pandemic-affected year of 2021. The summer months of July and August were the most successful, when the airport saw more than 200,000 passengers, in doing so surpassing the ‘pre-Covid’ year of 2019. 14.1.2021 - In 2020, Brno Airport checked-in 86,089 passengers. Due to measures to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, this is an 84% year-on-year decrease compared to 2019
The successful year 2019 was replaced by the critical year 2020. Due to the interruption of commercial flights with passengers on board at all airports in the Czech Republic in March and subsequent government measures together with the development of the coronavirus situation, the airport checked-in only 86,089 passengers. After yesterday's unofficial news, we received official confirmation today that Ryanair has decided to cancel the Brno-Berlin route from the summer flight schedule, i.e. from 29th March 2020. The last flight will take place on Saturday 28th March 2020. Although in April this year we tried to expand the offer of scheduled flights in cooperation with Ryanair, unfortunately, this route did not fully meet expectations on both sides and would probably not lead to significant improvement in the future... more→
